Introduction
X-Bomber is a freeware video game for Windows PCs. It is a 2D, vertical-scrolling space shoot-em-up. It is based on the 80's Japanese manga sci-fi show Star Fleet.
The game is developed using one desktop PC in a student's bedroom in St Andrews. Even so X-Bomber has brilliant gameplay, attractive graphics, explosive sound and a huge variety of enemies, weapons, ships and missions. X-Bomber is unique, almost tactical; combining fast movement with a wide view of your surroundings, incorporating multiple objective types; attack, defend, escape, survive - constantly changing throughout the mission. Unlike any other game of its type - you choose when to change craft. Use firepower, mobility or balance. Use devastating special attacks or call in airstrikes for support. You'll need all these. Your enemies are powerful and relentless and the game's randomising level engine makes sure you won't ever know exactly what it'll throw at you next.
