Mark is first and foremost a classroom teacher with over 20 years of experience in elementary and middle school classrooms. Mark's experiences as a school newspaper "publisher" led him to create the National Elementary Schools Press Association (NESPA), an organization that helps elementary
and middle schools start and improve school newspapers. NESPA membership numbers several hundred from coast to coast including noted writers Judy Blume, Garrison Keillor, and Dave Barry. Mark is the author of "Kids in Print ~ Publishing a School Newspaper," published in 1997 by Good Apple and several other books for teachers and students.
