- The Benjamin Gingiss Service Award is a lifetime achievement award given at the Society's annual meeting to a social service professional who best exemplifies the Society's mission of benefitting disadvantaged children in the State of Illinois. The Society prefers to honor a person who may generally go unrecognized for his or her service. The Gingiss recipient, as well as representatives of the recipient's organization, will attend the Society's annual dinner meeting in December. There the winner will receive an award as well as an honorarium of $7,500--payable to the person.
