History
The Francisco Grande opened its doors in 1959. Horace Stoneham, who at the time owned the San Francisco Giants, developed the property as a spring training camp for his team.
The Arizona hotel was also frequented by Hollywood notables including John Wayne and Pat Boone, who viewed the resort as a home away from home.
After the Giants relocated, the Francisco Grande became a popular golf destination. The hotel still operates the longest PGA Championship golf course in Arizona.
In 2003, the Francisco Grande temporarily shut its doors and underwent an $8.5 million-dollar renovation.

Legends is an upscale restaurant that specializes in Southwestern cuisine. Signature items include the margarita glazed salmon, pistachio encrusted halibut and the blackened New York strip steak.
Without a doubt, the Francisco Grande is best known for its luxury golf course. The course has a traditional par 72 layout and features lush landscaping including its manicured greens, more than 1500 trees, and three lakes.
