C-O-S-T is an acronym for Central Oregon Sportster Tour. A loosely organized group of central Oregon motorcyclists who get together for the purpose of riding in a group of motorcycles. There’s nothing more exciting than seeing and hearing a group of touring class bikes arriving at or departing from an event or site.
The originator of the website rides a Harley-Davidson Sportster so hence the reference in the name. The group and ALL rides however are open to ALL Makes and Models of motorcycles as long as they are 650cc or larger and able to maintain a steady pace of 65+ MPH for the duration of the day.
C-O-S-T organizes a no host group ride every Sunday during the riding season, weather permitting. We meet at 9:00AM to 10:00AM Sunday morning and we try to take a ride that can vary from 200-350 miles depending on the terrain, the number of riders and the number of stops along the way. The ride usually takes in a meal stop that can be early enough to be a lunch, or late enough to be an early dinner - depends on the ride and how the group feels about it.
All riders are welcome. There are no attitudes in this group and it’s a variety of individuals that defies the stereotypical definition of a motorcycle club. This group definitely wouldn’t be mistaken for an outlaw motorcycle gang.
C-O-S-T maintains a website [1] for the purpose of communicating a semi-regular update of the weeks planned ride venue. The website has a constantly updated weather forecast for Redmond. There is a FORUM accessible from their website that offers all riders a chance to make contacts, plan rides and trips with other members, post hazard alerts regarding regular ride routes or any other motorcycle related messages. C-O-S-T makes available a library of mapped and plotted rides that have been already taken and reviewed or are in the planning stages.
The website also has an Events Calendar to keep riders updated regarding motorcycle related events and rallies throughout the northwest region.
