The Alameda County Community Food Bank has been in business since 1985 … with a vision toward a day when we can go out of business. As Alameda County's central clearinghouse for donated food, the Food Bank will distribute 18.2 million pounds of food in 2009 – including 7.6 million pounds of farm-fresh produce.
