Hey!

Please take some time out to enter your class notes on this page saying what all of you are upto these days and what the future plans are. I think most of you would have received the email from the Alumni Office for the class notes...so I am planning to compile the class notes at this page before July 30th and then send them to the LUMS Alumni. Apart from that, this forum will also allow everyone to sort of keep in touch with activities of the rest of the batch...will be nice to know what all of you have been upto one year after graduation. Lets try and compile as many notes as we can by the 27th July. If anyone is willing to help me out with this, please lemme know.

What's everyone up to?

Aatir Abdul Rauf a.k.a Atkins/Bubni has been maliciously hypnotized and forced to make corporate web sites at Techlogix as a Software engineer...Though, he is now going to UPenn. He is reported to have answered every question by his US visa officer woman with an emphatic "WHO'S YOUR BUBNI?" - an act which made the Prime Minister very jealous.

Abeer Abdullah was globetrotting for the first half of the year, now she is in the K-Town working at Islamic Capital Partners, luring poor rich souls from all over the world to invest in Pakistan. The most frequent question asked to her is 'when is she getting married??', the answer to which would be a surprise for everyone!

Adeel Abdul Samad has been pursuing his MBA in Finance from IBA (Karachi) and has completed one year. He will graduate in May 2008 and join the corporate world soon afterwards.

Adeel Shafqat will be found at the halls of Warwick University very soon. He vows to stay connected to his roots (what does that mean, anyway?). Rumour has it that he's thinking of tying the knot.

Ahmad Abdul-Karim has deferred his admission to a master's program at Harvard and is going to be knocking around in Karachi for year, mostly bumming out at the beach.

Ahmad Khan Niazi is working as a business analyst at some company and is busy planning his big career switch.

Ahsan Ejaz is currently in the UK working on Project 'R' which is basically a fancy way of saying he's trying to sell Basmati Rice to UK based importers/wholesalers. He is looking forward to another year in the UK, exploring trading opportunities.

Ahsan Saeed Kirmani a.k.a Kirmani a.k.a Kimi a.k.a Kims a.k.a HC a.k.a Chims has just started a Masters program in Financial Engineering at Columbia University. and loving the life and the diverse variety of people to choose from at the Big Apple! :)

Alizeh Khalid is going to start a job soon (ahhahahahaha). After a year she is planning to go for her masters to England where she make biryani from Ahsan's basmati rice :)) hahahahahha

Ambreen Hamza is working for ABN AMRO as Integration Project Manager and whatever time she has in-between catching LHR_KHI_LHR flights and fighting with the airport staff, she is trying to merge Prime Bank with ABN AMRO as smooooooothly as possible

Ammar Zakiullah a.k.a Zaki a.k.a re-pete a.k.a Duckie refuses to talk in third person, well sorta! I have moved back to the US (finally, and this time for good insha Allah) and am living the American Dream as I plan to go on a cross-country road trip with folk who prefer to remain anonymous! ;)

Asma Khan moved to California and is still trying to adjust to her new life in a different country. She is working with Accenture in the technology solutions workforce and is loving every moment of working in downtown sanfrancisco

Athar Hameed a.k.a Saeen is working as a software engineer at AboutUs.org.

Ayesha Ahsan Malik just started her Masters in Financial Engineering at Columbia University and is living it up in New York City!

Ayesha Emad is enjoying her work as a Business Analyst at MCB Bank Ltd.

Ayesha Saeed has finished working at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad and is currently at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a graduate degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.

Aymen Saeed after working at AKD Securities and IGI Financial Services, is very excited and about to leave for a Finance and Strategy MBA at Simon Business School, NY.She is newly and happily engaged to Abid Zaim,a distant cousin.She is working part time at Deloitte Consulting.

Burair Nazir is a Brand Manager at Pak-American Fertilizers. It's common knowledge that he is still trying to figure out what to do wiht his life, despite the stable job and the shapely beard.

Emad Nadim has finally stopped AIE-SUCK-ing. He now intends to spend the summer overhauling his wardrobe and travelling the world (Secret trip at NewYears too!), before joining Cadbury Schweppes in some part of the world in fall. He promises chocolate donations to the BSc 2006 Fund.

Farhan Ali Saleem aka Paratha aka Sheikho is waiting for his KNIGHT in shining armour to sweep him off his feet and carry him to US where he intends to start work at Microsoft and plans to take the reigns of the company in his own hands. Billy the kid is waiting at the Gates to welcome him with Arms Wide Open.

Hassam Hussain a.k.a Sam a.k.a Waheed, during the day is a Product Manager at Wateen Telecom working towards a global technological revolution that is set to place Pakistan at its forefront. By nightfall he is contriving plans for siphoning savings off unsuspecting consumers. He craves for knowledge (and your money) more than ever.

Hassan Abbas is enrolled in the Computer Engineering MS-leading-to-PhD program at the University of Central Florida. He plans to re-evaluate continuing on with PhD after completion of his MS degree (in December 2008) and is inclined towards working in the industry.

Izhar Siddiqui a.k.a Pachaas wanted to join the local street racing scene but instead decided to do something more conventional by becoming an investment banker. However, you can still see him improving his lap record at the I. I. Chundrigar Road (currently set at 6min:12sec from Shaheen Complex to Tower during 9:00-9:30am slot). In his free time he works at KASB Investment Banking hoping some day his deal execution talents will be spotted by a regional private equity fund.

Kashif Tahir is all set to leave for Microsoft. He is the KNIGHT in shining armor Farhan is waiting for. Rumor is that very soon they’ll be known as Kashif Page and Sergey Ali Saleem. And yeah Kashif is mostly seen in his “studying sucks” T shirt!

Madiha Aziz is currently working as an RA at Lums in the School of Business. Her loyalties, however, remain with SS and she will soon start teaching World Affairs to O Level Students.

Madiha Tariq is all smiles about leaving for Carnegie Melon. There's word out there we will be receiving wedding invites! The rumor has caused spasms of panic amongst her "brotherhood".

Mahwish Chaudry is living in Khobar, Saudi Arabia with her family. She is working as an instructor in a branch of informatics where she is teaching various computer Science courses and is more often than not mistaken as a student (No complaints there!!!).She is busy trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and learning things that nobody teaches at universities.

Mehran Gul a.k.a Mehran Who? is presently working at the Senate of Pakistan. He will be leaving for Yale this fall.

Mohammad Junaid Khan a.k.a JK a.k.a Juni is presently working at NCR, Islamabad as a Professional Services Consultant.

Mohammad Adnan is busy working at Techlogix, Lahore as a Software Engineer.

Muzammil Shahid Bhatti a.k.a Bhatti joined SPCB where apart from working as a Credit Analyst for Auto Loans, he learnt how to 'Topify' his Boss, the art of Look-busy-do-nothing, the best online gaming sites and finally that the shortest way from Shaheen Complex to Tower is not necessarily the fastest. After months of hard work, he decided to resign and go for his Masters. Currently he is on a vacation and will be joining IBA this August to pursue his MBA in Finance.

Nadia Rana a.k.a 'Nadia' after a long deliberation of what to do with her life, joined Warid after LUMS and has been working for almost a year now. However she knows she is meant for bigger things and is devising a mysterious plan to shock everyone with her drastic life change ;)...she always has everyone guessing.

Natasha Qureshi a.k.a Natwar (which btw is not her last name :P) just quit Citibank after a pretty good year and is going to Cornell for Masters of Eng in CS.

Nida Rasheed has moved to Karachi as the new President of AIESEC in Pakistan. No surprises there!

Osman Ehtisham Anwar who thinks he is a bit too old for the word Baby now has quit Netsol and would be starting work at HBOS Treasury Services in London.

Omair Gillani is working for General Electric Infrastructure as Embedded Control Engineer and completing his masters degree in Embedded Design in Dec '07. Planning to stay with GE until something more interesting comes along.

Rabeea Haq a.k.a Rabzo is currently handling risk management for Kashf Foundation,a microfinance institute, and it seems heavenly compared to her short stint in the PCO at LUMS!

Rabia Waqar a.k.a BANO! is going to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at Columbia University; she's looking forward to the next two years in New York and life at the International House.

Saad Ali Khan is still gaming, now with a Wii. He allocates his spare time between the squash and tennis courts at LUMS, his Dinky, and Netsol.

Salma Khalid, carrying her own body weight in luggage, hopes to find her mojo at UChicago. She's refused to take cooking classes and instead spends her time worrying about whether she will look like a baloon in the thick fur coat she plans to purchase.

Salman Suhail a.k.a. Kaala is taking over the world one tiny step at a time. He woke up one morning to find himself in Egypt, chilling at the pyramids, diving in the red sea, and trying to hook up with Cleopatra - doing Business Development and Innovatives work at TayaIT - an Arabic search engine.

Saman Qureshi got sick of working crazy hours with an obnoxious boss at Timescape Capital and decided to put her social science skills to good use as an editorial assistant at Newsline, a job which was enjoyable and satisfying. She is almost set to head out to NYU for a masters in public relations and communication through the fulbright scholarship.

Samia Sohaib Siddiqui spent the latter half of 2006 traveling in Pakistan and Canada, finally settling down in Calgary, Alberta with her family. She then took the winter semester at the University of Calgary as an open student to just test the waters. She is currently working as a Software Developer at Smart Technologies.

Sana Ejaz a.k.a "Chinky" to some, has had quite an eventful year since graduation & she is currently working in NetSol.

Sara Inayat has spent the past 12 months at Khada Market having chicken Chatni rolls and nihari. Next year she plans to do the same elsewhere in the world. Between her first roll of the day and the second she works at ABN AMRO Karachi and wonders if divinity has a better plan for her.

Sumaya Rehman now known as Sumi Durrani is 'living happily after' with Sardar Ahmed Durrani a.k.a "Durrani". After working with ICI Pakistan Ltd. for a while, she is now travelling with Durrani during his official 4 month rotations between Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and eventually Dubai. She is currently working for a Research company called Research International and can use fancy words such as "Swa Ku" & "Tai Tai".

Tehreem Husain worked at the Sindh Education Foundation and learnt the art of downloading Prison Break and Lost. She will now be heading to LUMS for her masters degree.

Umair Haleem is almost done with his research projects with the Suleman Dawood School of Business faculty at LUMS. He is now starting his entrepreneurial career as an Executive Director at Shafi Group.

Umair Ibrahim a.k.a Kasumbi is busy making cunning plans while pretending to be working at an Oil & Gas company.

Umer Hafeez is working at ABN Amro as an Assistant Product Manager in the Unsecured Assets business after a year of chilling other wise known as the Management Associate program. His heart though remains set on studying political science/political economy.

Usman Ejaz a.k.a Ozzy is currently working as BSc 2006 Class Notes Corrdinator though his talents are better utilized in other activities such as investment banking, arranging movie tickets for HBL's IBG Department, chatting endlessly on Google Talk, and acing CFA examinations.
