The Adventures of Tintin Cast.png

If the names Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, the Thompsons and Cuthbert Calculus mean anything to you, you must be a Tintin fan! The first comic I ever owned and read was "Tintin and The Lake of Sharks," and it had me hooked. Thus began my numerous exploits with Tintin and his trusted sidekick Snowy: recovering stolen relics, rescuing kidnapped friends and even saving the world from asteroids.

The Adventures of Tintin by Hergé have fascinated people from all over the world. Translated into more than eighty languages, you can pick up a Tintin adventure at any time to relax and be entertained. Tintin's quests take him all over the globe -- to Egypt, China, Africa and even out of this world, to the moon. He faces villains in all guises, including secret service agents, spies, an ex-Nazi scientist, opium smugglers and even a runaway mummy in "The Seven Crystal Balls".

The Belgian cartoonist behind all these colorful characters was Georges Remi, also known as Hergé. He started the saga of Tintin in 1929 with "Tintin in the Land of the Soviets." He went on to write and draw over 20 comic book adventures starring this cool and calm action hero. Hergé died in 1983 while working on another adventure, "Tintin and Alph-Art," which has been left unfinished, as per his instructions.

The number of businesses built around the fame of Tintin and the gang shows how well-loved and far-reaching these adventures were, and still are. You can browse online bookstores for the Tintin adventure missing from your library. Find rare collectibles featuring characters from the comic series. You can even browse through the Hergé Museum to learn more about the genius behind the boy with the red hair.

Whether you have grown up reading the Tintin comic series, wish to re-visit your childhood or want to introduce it to your kids, the following list will provide you a launch pad into the world of this young reporter.

Tintin has had many adventures the world over -- and even out of it, as the young reporter visited the moon many years before Neil Armstrong. He has uncovered hidden treasures and solved mind-boggling mysteries -- and he always gets the bad guy in the end.

With his trusty companion Snowy by his side and with help from his eccentric friends, Tintin is sure to capture your imagination and affection.
