Title

The Varsity

Description

Canada's largest student newspaper, The Varsity publishes twice a week during the school year, Mondays and Thursdays, and is distributed on all three of the University of Toronto's campuses.

Located at 21 Sussex Ave. (behind Robarts Library), we are committed to covering the U of T Campus and environs and the issues important to you as students and citizens. Our news coverage is, without doubt, the most complete on campus. We're a friendly bunch. Really. Anyone can work for The Varsity, and we encourage you to stop in at our office to take a look around. You don't need anything but the desire to put in a little time: there are no tests, no writer's fees, and, we hope, no hassles.

We are published by Varsity Publications Inc., a non-profit corporation financed in part (a little less than 10 per cent) by an annual $1.25 levy paid by all full-time undergraduates. Students elect a board of directors that manages the corporation's finances. Editorial content of the paper, however, is the responsibilty of the staff. The Varsity will not publish material attempting to incite violence or hatred towards particular individuals or an identifiable group, particularly on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, gender, age, mental or physical disability, or sexual orientation. Now entering its 125th year, The Varsity is looking for new writers, photographers, cartoonists, etc. to help continue its tradition as U of T's unofficial school of journalism.
