Title

The Basque Market - Food, Wine and Gifts from the Iberian Peninsula

Description

In December of 2000, The Basque Market opened its doors on the Basque Block in downtown Boise. Bar Gernika, which had been operating just down the street for the previous ten years, was getting more and more calls for caterings and could not find a way to meet those demands. There were also more and more Spanish and Basque products coming into the Boise market, with no stores willing to carry them all. So after meeting with several family members and friends, Dan Ansotegui disregarded all of their advice and opened The Basque Market.

Since that time, The Basque Market has taken hold in Boise. Lovers of wines, olives, and other products from the Iberian Peninsula have found their way to our little corner of the block. We have the largest selection of Spanish & Basque wines in all of Idaho. We also take our responsibilities very seriously and have tried them all. In fact, if you come in after one of our long days of wine tasting, we may need you to actually check yourself out as we work our way through the "spins".

Our catering reputation has spread as well. The Basque Market caters events both large and small. Everything from tapas, to special Paellas in your own home, to traditional dinners served at The Basque Museum or The Basque Center, we are prepared to handle groups from five to five-hundred. We give you our sincere promise that your food will be some of the best catered food you've ever had, served to you by a professional and personable staff. We will work with you to make sure that your special event is everything that you had hoped and more.
