Linda became a survivor in December 1997 when her husband Daniel, a Cincinnati Police Officer, was gunned down along with his partner, Police Specialist Ron Jeter, in the line of duty. They were serving a domestic violence warrant. Both officers were shot once in the head and died. The man responsible for their murders committed suicide immediately after he killed them.
Linda chartered the Ohio Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) in May of 1999 and was re-elected President in June 2001 for a two-year term.
