Description
Marilynn Seits is a composer and pianist originally from New York City. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in music and has been composing, recording and performing professionally for over thirty years, mostly in Jazz and New Age music. Her avid interest in and study of the Eastern healing arts began with her first Yoga lesson back in 1970 at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City. She has since traveled extensively in China and the Orient, studying Tai Chi, Qigong and hands-on healing. Her interest in alternative healing methods has inspired her to compose several albums of positive healing music, some of them featuring the piano and some featuring Oriental instruments. She has also recorded several albums of jazz including "Vibrations", "Karmic Tribute", "Soundacapes" with Peter Ponzol and Abbey Rader, "Sudden Departure" with the Ray Oram Jazz Octet and "Rained Out" with her own band The Vibrations Jazz Ensemble.
Moongate Music for Massage, Yoga & Spas offers CDs of soothing, relaxing music ideal for massage therapists, salons, spas and Yoga classes. All CDs are an hour or more in length and instrumental (no distracting vocals or drum beats). They are continuous without breaks or sudden dynamic shifts and create a peaceful atmosphere ideal for relaxing clients and allowing therapists and estheticians to concentrate on their work. CDs available include Feathertouch and (melodic and serene ambient music), For Three Friends (piano with strings and flute), the enchanting Threads of Violet Light, Dragon & Phoenix and Black Dragon (both Oriental influenced music) and Meditations Along the Silk Road (soft ethereal music). In addition to instrumental music, we also have spoken word audio CD's that offer instruction on chakra meditation, daily yoga practice and relaxing to sleep.
Sean McAusland is the graphic designer for all of the Moongate products including CD covers and logos and he is also the audio engineer in our 48 track recording studio. Sean studied art at the University of Vermont where he received an AB degree and he also completed a two year course in graphic art at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He has played both jazz and rock bass for about 10 years now, playing in his own prog rock band DINOSAUR CONSTRUCTION UNIT and with his mother Marilynn Seits and brother Andy McAusland in the VIBRATIONS JAZZ ENSEMBLE.
