Description
The Virginia Law Weekly is published by students at the University of Virginia School of Law each Friday of the school year, excluding breaks and exam periods.
It was first printed in 1948 and has been cited in several court opinions, including the Supreme Court, Patterson v. New York, 432 U.S. 197 (1977), the Fifth Circuit, Thermo King v. White's Trucking Service, 292 F.2d 668 (5th Cir. 1961), and numerous state courts since its founding.
The Law Weekly was first published online in the late 1990s, providing PDFs of each week's edition and was redesigned by Editor-in-Chief Scott Meacham '04 in the winter of 2004. In the spring of 2005, Features Editor Joey Katzen '07 relaunched it into a full-featured interactive newspaper site.
