IRLC is the largest grass roots pro-life organization in the state and is the Iowa affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee. Over the years IRLC has grown to an organization which represents thousands of pro-life people through chapters and affiliates from border to border. IRLC, through education and other public awareness programs, strives to provide an
effective voice for the rights of the most vulnerable members of the human family, those who are threatened by abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.
The single most shocking assault on the sanctity of human life occurred on January 22, 1973 when seven of the nine Justices of the United States Supreme Court, disregarding prior legal traditions, overwhelming biological evidence and the ethical traditions of a majority of the American people, struck down all states' protective laws.
