- The Helena Peace Seekers (HPS) are a volunteer-run peace initiative formed shortly after the cruel attacks of September 11, 2001 and the illegal invasion of Afghanistan by U.S. and coalition forces. The origins and inspiration of HPS lie in the founding of the original Last Chance Peacemakers Coalition in 1981. In October of 1990, the Peacemakers broadened their scope to include economic justice and reformed as the Helena Service for Peace and Justice. In 2001 the Helena Peace Seekers inherited this legacy.
