- A graduate of UCLA Law School (Class of 1970), Randall has been in the "eye of the storm" since September 11th. In his representation of three young, Arab Muslim men arrested as material witnesses in San Diego, California, on September 21st, Randall has become an outspoken opponent of the Bush Administration's attack on our fundamental constitutional rights in its war against terrorism. He calls the Patriot Bill the "Anti-Bill of Rights Bill." He has been relentless in castigating the Administration for racially profiling Arabs and Muslims in the United States. He saw the Administration's monitoring of attorney-inmate conversations as a veiled threat to the fundamental right to an attorney. His words were prescient. Today, two American citizens sit in military prisons beyond the reach of any attorney or court. According to the Administration, they have been designated as "enemy combatants" by the President and may be held indefinitely by the government. One of them was arrested in Chicago. Randall depicts these actions as the "baby-steps of neo-facsim."
