- Globalization is a reality. Nobody can deny it. However, the true difficulty lies in comprehending and embracing the phenomenon. One may try to rely on public data and statistics. Nevertheless, how many countries publicize, with full transparency, serious, reliable, validated and quantifiable data? With Globe Expert, International Focus opted for a process based on information. With the Internet, the information became global and profuse. This profusion, often redundant, brings a background noise, which submerges valid information. A theory developed by Claude Shannon in 1949 demonstrates that information is less perceptible when its mass exceeds a threshold. In order to acquire the information as an appropriate source for the globalization measure, International Focus has taken four years to identify relevant sources of information, looking at different views, which can be crossed. Indeed, some sources are controlled, biased, fudged... Nevertheless, they are still pertinent for they bring a way of communication planned by the emitting government. Notwithstanding, this information has to be counterbalanced by other sources, sometimes those provided by contestants to a system or those emanating from international organizations. After mining, International Focus brought to light many sources from diverse origins: international organizations (UN, EOCD, FAO, EU...), central banks, national and international research centres, think-tanks, blogs and, finally, some big national media. Those sources cross, enhance and bring a global and consistent coverage. Through more than 1000 qualified sources of information, International Focus provides a database, increasing everyday.
