Description
The Aviation Safety Program began as the Accident Prevention Program on June 30, 1970. The program introduced the concept of a joint program sponsored by the FAA and the aviation community to reduce the general aviation accident rate. Over the years the program demonstrated that a reduction in the general aviation accident rate could be achieved. The current Aviation Safety Program has expanded to include all facets of aviation.
The purpose of the Aviation Safety Program and this website is to continue reducing aviation accidents through educational and cooperative efforts.
