- Robert Holden Linder was born in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. He grew up as a poor Mexican child making money selling gum to support his 13 brothers and 1 sister. His parents were shot down by vigilante border patrol men and were sold back to the family for a few pesos so the children would have something to eat. When Holden turned 17 he discovered he was in fact white and quickly crossed the border without being stopped. His life was then a mix of prostitution and immigrant field work. Prostitution wasn't as profitable as the field work so he soon became a full time migrant worker. But the hard work in the sun made him wish for a greater life. Robert soon realized that he was lonely...
