Carson Valley Radio Club
Description
Carson Valley Radio Club is a traditional amateur radio club. It teaches classes, it gives examinations, it provides a repeater, it hosts a web site, it holds meetings and it publishes a newsletter. It supports DX'ing, contesting, ARES and RACES activities. It is registered as a non-profit Nevada corporation, it sponsors the annual ARRL Excellence in Recruiting award and not only is CVRC an ARRL Affiliated Club, but it has been recognized by ARRL as a Special Service Club; one of only three in the State of Nevada.
In 1997 the founders felt that the Carson Valley could benefit from a traditional approach to amateur radio. An approach that emphasized progress and diversity, yet supported fundamental interests such as DX'ing, contesting, technical growth, upgrade training, ARES and RACES.
