Couvrette... the name is synonymous with creative photography. Couvrette Studio's images show a diversity of talent unparalleled in Ottawa. The studio has garnered over 100 awards in its 20 year history, Paul Couvrette was awarded Ontario Photographer of the Year for three consecutive years and was named Canadian Photographer of the Year in 1994.
The studio's range of work shows its versatility while the awards wall of its new Gladstone Avenue studio attests to excellence in many specialties.
Portraiture is always at the forefront of the studio's work, from hi tech stars with names like Cowpland and Potter to up-and-comers like Espial. On the political side, the studio has photographed every Prime Minister since Trudeau and half the current cabinet.
Families are some of the photographer's favourite subjects. Dramatic studio portraits and storytelling family albums recorded at the studio or in the home are treasures that grace the homes of countless Ottawans. Models, actors and entertainers are frequent clients as the studio's black & white portfolio attests. Wedding clients are generally those that want "something special".
