Design
Brammo follows a five step design process:
- Ideation- The sketch and brainstorm process - from napkins to CAD designs.
- Class A Surfacing - Original sketch designs captured digitally and conformed to manufacturing specifications.
- Chassis Integration - Concepts prepared for mechanical assembly using Alias StudioTools and Solid Works.
- Scanning - Implementation of sketches using Faro-Arm probe and laser scanning.
- Modeling - Models constructed up to real size to test concepts.
Engineering
- Mechanical design - Solidworks CAD used to facilitate the engineering process
- Analysis - Digital tools used to analyze faster.
- CNC Programming - Mastercam used to fit requirements of Brammo 3-5 Axis CNC requirements. HAAS and CMS posts used to translate design to nearly any material.
- CNC Milling - VM-3 machine used to make molds.
- CNC Lathe - Casting through the SL-20.
- CNC 5 Access Gantry - 5 access quick stroke positioning.
- CNC Sheetmetal - Partnership with Brill Metalworks of White City, Oregon for metal development.
- CNC Tube Work - Tauring group Axis CNC bender used to complete tube rolling operations.
Composites
- Design - done by engineers with specific knowledge in the field
- Material Selection - selection of the correct fiber type based on structural requirements.
- Pattern Making - creation of seamless master models.
- Tool Design - tools designed and created based on project requirement (# manufactured, material, etc.).
- Part Production - parts produced with a variety of composite manufacturing techniques.
- Assembly Bonding - parts refined by hand trimming and/or CNC machining before bonding.
