About 25 KM's from Satara in Indian State of Maharashtra, is world heritage site of "KASS PLATEAU" Its a high hill plateau which turns into Valley of Flowers in the monsoon months. The blooming is at its peak in month of August. Kass plateau has over 800 varieties of flowers and shrubs. The orchids bloom too during these months.
Kass Plateau has two ways of reaching, one is directly from Satara and the other is via Panchagani, Mahabaleshwar link road from Tapola. I had opportunity of opting for second one i.e stay in Panchagani and excursion to KASS PATHAR. This location is ideal for a day excursion when you are vacationing in hills of Mahabaleshwar.
Koyna Sanctuary, Kass Lake and Sajjangad are with 25 km radius from the Plateau.
