- Dr. Troy LaMar was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Southern California, receiving a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1986. He returned home for medical school, earning his M.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. Dr. Troy LaMar completed his general surgery residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital in California, in 1997. He then joined California Bariatric and General Surgery Associates in 1998. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Troy LaMar is on the teaching staff at Huntington Memorial. His special areas of interest include bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and hernia surgery.
