Activation has consolidated a number of key relationships with Kenyan government departments (The Ministry of Education, The District Officer for Migori, Kenyan High Commission in London) and other UK NGO's working in Kenya,educational experts and consultants (Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, Widows and Orphans International Charity, Sodnet Consultancy) who provide guidance and assistance in project implementation.
JPMorgan Chase sponsored a "Give As You Earn" Scheme for UK staff to raise funding for the secondary school in Migori.
Activation was formed in May 2002 to put on a proper charitable basis the personal and family efforts of Kirsten Westdal and Louis Plowden-Wardlaw in assisting a Kenyan charity, "Herald". Kirsten Westdal and Louis Plowden-Wardlaw are both solicitors and do all trustee and other administrative work for the charity on a pro bono basis.
