Current Project

Building XOB from conception to a functional business. The current project is broad, flexible and prone to error. Making these is part of our growth process. We are discovering how to do business in this new way and how to apply current knowledge and technology to suit our business needs. The more people participate, the more each one benefits. (It's similar to the innovation of the telephone in its historical start-phase.)

Project Context in XOB

At present in this architectural phase the current project encompasses the entirety of XOB practices. In the future with more complexity and projects this will describe how the current project relates to the overall vision of XOB as a whole.

WorkerTeam

XOB's foundation on XP's principle of paired teams as a core unit can build into bigger teams suitable for the project at hand.

The current team consists of just one PairedWorker unit

Discussion

As Aboutus wiki allows subpages, it is ideally suited to add to each community member's WikiHomepage or represented Website an ExtremeOpenBusiness (XOB) subpage like this one, which has again other subpages:

We are in the architectural phase now, where our design decisions are crucial to be made in the shortest time. Later modifications may hamper the process. So the highest priority for our current work, appears to be now to lay the groundwork for a managable solution. (Formats, Tools, explanations). fridemar 09:45, 26 June 2008 (PDT)

This means you feel we need to lay this down rapidly or carefully? Aaron Poeze 21:59, 27 June 2008 (PDT)

I am thinking here of how to implement the core values of XP we want to transfer such as PairedWorkers, standing meetings, customer involvement, testing. How on earth do we test this?

In this way we get a uniform format, that facilitates interactions between a greater number of xob agile wikizens.

We can establish the Portfolio and Transaction tables on Wiki pages or let them point to GoogleSpreadsheets or EditGrids ,who ideally should have a PayButton. See OpenDomainPortfolioWithBuyButton.

I like this.
This motivates me to focus on Spreadsheet organization now (for mashed up portefolios and transaction tables.)

Before automating this system, we can simulate it manually, (along our pioneering XobTransactions) thus producing Wiki:UserStories for Wiki:ExtremeOpenProgramming. See also Wiki:UserStoryDiscussion,Wiki:ExtremeProgramming

made by fridemar 15:59, 25 June 2008 (PDT) as a suggested template for Aaron (and hopefully a lot of other wikizens).

I reckon this is a great idea and can form the initial stage of how we document and relate. Feel free to copy over to your page and edit. As we go back and forth we can reach a reasonable balance. I think i might even rough draft some target pages see how it goes. Aaron Poeze 23:51, 25 June 2008 (PDT)
It is a daunting task for us now, that must be discounted in the initial sharing price for our next collaborators, I think. fridemar 09:45, 26 June 2008 (PDT)
I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Do you mean we need to do this now in order to make the entry process easier for new collaborators in the future? Aaron Poeze 21:59, 27 June 2008 (PDT)
Example: If two PairWorkers have worked hundreds of hours to develop a domain xyz, than it would be not fair towards this team to want them to share the xyz domain price in equal parts with some joining third party for later sharing the revenue on the sold xyz domain in equal parts. fridemar 04:40, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

Aaron: I've reworked this a bit moving things around and added a bit more in the subpages. I am aware the current project needs steps as in XP. I'm also aware that remuneration (I'm thinking here of money and of job satisfaction) and power structure is missing except for the team structure. Obviously in XOB and any OB these two are going to be managed quite differently and such things as employer/employee get blurred as well as the typical business hierarchy power structure being rather outmoded.
