Definition
A WikiLink is a clickable hyper-link from one page on a wiki to another. Here at AboutUs, simply place [[ before the name of the page to link to and ]] after that text and you'll have a link. To learn how to link to other wikis, take a look at our InterWiki table, which allows direct links to 140+ wikis and websites using a similar link technique. This [[AboutUs.org]]
gives you this --> AboutUs.org
Special WikiLinks
make the navigation more attractive for active and passive users of wikis:
BiLinks
To help users not getting LostInHyperspace we may use immediate BiLinks, which allow navigation in both ways. Wikis make setup of such qualified links easy, wheras Read-only pages suggest being bilinked by SocialAnnotation-systems such as DiiGo.com or TrailFire.com.
Mediated BiLinks
A MediatedBiLink creates a bidirectional connection between two pages, where at least one page is a ReadOnly page. An example is given below in the BiLinks footer of this page.
InterWikiLinks
To interface external wiki-pages, we can can use WikiPrefixes, as described on InterWiki. For the convenience of users and page-authors, it is helpful to have them connected by BiLinks.
Google enhanced WikiLinks
are links that have an additional google-search entry icon, like this: BiLinks
VideoLinks
Here you can see, how to insert useful community links to YouTube- videos: WorkInProgress
BiLinks
InterWiki, Internal Linking Guide, WikiSyntax, Bilinks, DiiGo.com, TrailFire.com
InterWiki Mediated BiLink by TrailFire.com . Both pages have ample TrailFire annotations.
