Title
Shore Line Interurban Historical Society
Description
The Shore Line Interurban Historical Society is a group with membership open to anyone with an interest in the Chicagoland electric railways, including the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee; the Chicago South Shore and South Bend; and the Chicago Aurora and Elgin.
The Society's interests also include the electric railways that connect or connected with these roads in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. In this "connections" category are several other companies, including Chicago Rapid Transit, Chicago Surface Lines, Chicago and West Towns Railways, Evanston Railway, Northern Indiana Railway, Gary Railways, and The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company.
The Society's name derives from our original focus on the North Shore Line. While the North Shore remains very important to us, our current interests include all of the electric railways of the greater Chicago area, past and present.
