- On September 9, 1999 Arkansas City natives Lucas and Blanche Schmidt first opened the doors of Schmidt Jewelers at 226 South Summit Street. Schmidt Jewelers opened with only two showcases and a willingness to serve the Arkansas City community through quality jewelry repair. Through the support of friends and family, Schmidt Jewelers is now a full service jewelry store.
