Minti - Parent to parent advice-opedia

Minti logo.gif

Powered by parents.

Minti is a website that allows parents to share and gain valuable advice on parenting. Much like Wikipedia, the content is created and maintained by member collaboration. Articles can be tagged and/or rated by any user so as to facilitate optimum searchability, quality, and relevancy. Topics range from pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, babies, early childhood, schooling, tweens, teenage years and beyond. A la MySpace, members have profile pages with personal information (including an About Me section, photos, messaging, tags, recent activity and RSS feed imports from entries on other blog sites). Add friends to your network, customize your page, and even garner awards for your additions to the site. Other features include groups, forums, and Q&A.

History

After identifying the need for more comprehensive parenting advice, Rachel Cook began developing a business model for Minti in 2005.

Shortly thereafter, Clay Cook (CEO - on the left) and Mathew Macfarlane (CFO - not pictured) joined the team. In February 2006 Minti completed its first round of fundraising from Angel investors. Minti's business model focuses on a limited implementation of context-relevant text advertising.
