Full Poster is an innovative website for personal or professional advertisement profiles.

Currently available in two languages, english and italian, which can be changed on the fly.

The impact on Search Engines by opening a profile on Full Poster may go beyond your best expectations. Verify by yourself : Full Poster Search Engines statistics. You may add a considerable amount of visibility to your business or talent for free.

The website includes, again all for free:

Profile

  • List Of Profiles
  • Can be rubricated accordingly to about 15 main categories and about 1000 subcategories. Every profile can be changed in all its details, included its category, whenever you want: therefore, you can use one same profile to feture or sell different items just chaging the photos and the texts.
  • Allowed html tags, with several limitations, and a guide to use them and shortcuts for most common tags (strong, headers, framed box). Requires some knowledge of html and css if you want to elaborate more sophisticated layouts in your profile. Currently no third part site offers pre-made codes for this purpose.
  • Each profile includes your own descriptions, a complete and big google map, contact data, obfuscation of email addresses against robots
  • Printable versions of contact data and texts.
  • Comments (which can be disabled and managed).
  • Votes (which can be disabled).
  • Statistics of views and keywords from Google
  • Scrolling photos with accelerators and decelerators and magnifiers.
  • Colors can be all customed.
  • Links to your own website.
  • Erase main text fields and delete your photos from your profile with one click: useful because you may employ one same poster, for instance, to sell a different product once one is sold and you may need a speedy way to remove the main contents. This will not affect your map and tipology and subtipologies though, which if needed must be manually updated - the assumption being that your location will not change and that maybe you still want to use the same poster tipologies (instance: sell/computers - erase text and photos of a sold computer, but provide details of a new one).
  • You can change your username (if not taken) because you're univocally identified by a number not by your current username (option limited to 10 changes).

Reviews

As on March 2010, this is a major update: now every user may basically publish multiple posters, as many as s/he wants. Reviews are sort of a slightly depleted poster where you link the images of resources you like, you categorize them, provide contact details and web address (if any) of the reviewed resource, you provide their geographical address and get their map, and finally write your review.

Plenty of sorting options to view reviews listed: it is possible to apply custom tags to the reviews, so that in searches they may be sorted by tags too, or you may sort reviews by the website address of the reviewed resource (if more than one review by different authors is found for one same web address) or even by website addresses that are similar to it; you may sort by author, city, state, country, category, subtipology or by any combination of all of the above.

Impressive impact to give anything you like another way to be found online. Of course you may also advertise (review) your own products, or use your main poster for your major activity and use reviews, for instance, to publish selling advertisments for other things.

The link to update or delete your reviews can be found nearby the bottom of each review page: you provide there your password and if you are the author of that review, a full fledged upadting page for the review will be produced.

You may include automated previews of reviews (yours or other's) into other reviews (yours or other's) or into your blogs by using a very simple syntax (two special chars plus the review number), like it happens with snippets (see further on).

Besides, if you have logged in at the login page and in one of your reviews you see a broken image (reviews host images only from external links), on the placeholder of the broken image will appear a button to delete the broken link with one click - this is a very convenient feature so you can perform this task without having to go to the full review update page.

However the full review update page is one simple page that makes the updating process like a breeze.

Advanced Search

Browse by category, subcategories, city, state, nation, photos, and any combination of those. Advanced Search Page

Personal Blog

Although sligthly unconventional, the blogs feature several (and useful! no frills) features that are unique. All blogs include:
  • List Of Blogs
  • Statistics.
  • Comments
  • .
  • Options to sort comments by visits, sort comments by most recent comments, sort comments by amount of comments
  • Rss feeds.
  • Comments (editable by the sender or deletable by the owner of the profile and the sender both) and comments management (ban, limit specific topic to accept comments only by specified users, etc). Only subscribed members may comment, which avoids all the major or more common spamming issues: this may limit your interactions with the general (and anonymous) public, but also grants that if the community grows, it will grow with qualified and accountable memberships.
  • Vote topic: also non members of the site may cast a vote on each topic, in a range from 1 (poor vote) to 7 (excellent vote).
  • Topic tags of your making.
  • Printable version of each topic, option to include or exclude plaintext version of linked texts.
  • You can sort topics also by the provided tags.
  • Wikipedia links changed into a linked asterisk to allow Amazon and/or Google contextual ads on keywords: these ads at times can be truly useful to know more about some printed author's name or book or product title (which might spare to you the need to add a link that explains it).
  • Links offer a free website preview by clicking the linked text via codes offered by a free third part service.
  • Import snippets feature: create your own snippets of text. These snippets will be stored and available to the public. Then you can insert them into your blog using a simple insertion syntax pointing to the specific snippet ID. You can also insert snippets of other members: all snippets gets framed with a legend that credits the author. Saves typing, useful for programmers who post codes, and may be interesting for shared works.
  • List Of Snippets
  • You can also insert specific portions of a snippet, provided the author of the snippet divided the text with headers defining such portions.
  • It is possible to include footnotes in blogs and snippets: applying the specific syntax to inline text in order to identify that segment as a footnote, they will get automatically and correctly parsed and enumerated, then moved at bottom and applied as footnotes with anchors (this works correctly also in case of included snippets or portions).
  • It is possible to include custom CSS (with safety measures applied).
  • Snippet posts, reviews, and blog posts may generate hidden inline contents with captioned text to toggle each hidden content on and off using a secure and simple syntax (that is, no html or java-script direct input involved); useful for serious bloggers who, for instance, need to add technical details without making them immediately apparent unless the reader shows interest in reading them (toggles them on).
  • Autoindexing: snippet posts and blog posts may self-generate an index of the page contents that will appear on top as a set of links associated with self-generated anchors in the page. These anchors will apply to any header that you may have included in the post using the Full Poster specific syntax [header_here]. Autoindexing is optional and may be switched on or off at any time on specifically selected posts.
Additional option, once on the page, to sort the index alphabetically.
See an example of a post with autoindexing on.

Transformation Tables

Starting with January 2011 each subscriber can now create transformation tables and save them on the server. Transformation tables are look up tables where a subscriber's provided input is automatically replaced with a different input of his/her choice. Particularly useful to use abbreviations in order to trigger mathematical formulas that would be repetitive or boring or difficult to write, or to translate instantly into a different language chars provided for instance in Latin alphabet.

Tabular Data

You can create tabular data for tariffs, prices, items, etc and include such tables as snippets in any other page of yours with a shorthand syntax of a few chars (for scores of rows and cells, and text within them).

Polls

Create your own polls, custom question and answers and multiple or single answers options. List Of Polls

Favourite links

Not as sophisticated as delicious, yet an interesting bonus add on: with description, tags, options to sort or group by links. List Of Links

Discussion groups

Full fledged. Not a replacement for major giants like yahoo, but in such a suite they couldn't be missing and they can be very functional for medium range discussions. List Of Groups

Chatrooms

Simple, unobtrusive, unclustered.

Events

31 days anticipation at most.

Instant messaging

Feature available for members: all messaging is For Your Eyes Only, namely private.

Personal Announcements

Personal announcements are texts written by you. If present, they will appear in your pages (blog, snippets etc.) as scrolling banners permanently in sight at the bottom of the page. In this way in every page of yours you may exhibit notices or advertise products or services of yours thus increasing their popularity and visibility as well. Count of views included, reset of it to zero also.

External Widgets

Support for external sites widgets, from a list of dozens of allowed ones.

The concept is rather interesting: it presumes you know the code your external site widget will use and specifically if such code will include either your username or an assigned id. You then check if the service is among the allowed ones and if it is you provide either your username or id accordingly in a text field, and you check or uncheck the related checkbox to enable or disable it.

The widget code of the external service will be automatically applied to the concerned pages (instance: your blog pages). This grants that if the code of the external widget changes, you will have to update nothing: Full Poster will applly the new code and the custom username or id will be automatically inserted if the service is enabled. This adds security for the site and you both, and spares you the time to be sure your widget codes are up to date.

You can also determine in which order the widgets have to appear on the affected pages.

Prayer Requests

Open area: request a prayer (yes!), describe situation.

Prayer requests provide, upon insertion, a password that may be used to delete that prayer request. Prayer requests are saved for about 90 days.

Whoever says a prayer for a specific prayer request may update the counter of that request to flag that one more prayer has been (anonymously) said.

See prayers page.

Shoutbox

Area to publish shouts namely texts whose relevance you do not deem fit to fall in major categories such as your blog, snippets, groups etc.

You can view all shouts, or sort them by author, or as a thread namely only the shouts that have been published as a reply to another specific shout, in ascending or descending date order. Permalink provided.

You can also publish shouts specifying that your main profile leading image (if any) should not be included, if you wish so.

You can publish shouts to which only you may reply, so to have dedicated threads in case you want to use a shoutbox thread for assembling an ongoing project of yours.

All shouts can be voted by viewers, unless the author specifies for specific shouts that those cannot be voted.

You can edit and update your own shouts.

Shoutbox page.

Projects

Since March 2011 projects have been introduced. Projects are contribution aggregators. You may start your projects and then you and users (or only you, if you set the project to closed) may aggregate to it any blog, snippet or review entry (or any other contribution type allowed to be queued to a project) they have on Full Poster.

Project creators may remove unwanted aggregated items. Removing an item only removes it from the project, and does not delete the actual item (which in itself is always an independent element on its own, since projects are only aggregators).

To add an item of yours to a project you need to be logged in first, then whenever you are on a page of yours, you will find commands to add it to a project if it is a blog or snippet or review or any other allowed type of contribution. To add it you only need to know the project identification number.

More options

Since 2011 added syntax colors for PRE tags showing programming codes (example) and, also, are now available the previews for the main textareas in the member areas (posters, snippets, blogs, reviews).

To know the specific wiki-like syntaxes that produce special outputs on Fullposter check the manual (bottom page).

Since october 2008 there is also an autoparse links feature in the blogs and snippets: links that appear as put in plain text, are converted into active links.

Privacy options: you may selectively hide some data, for instance the update timestamp of most of your texts.

In the members area. Every day between 6 and 24 hours spent on cheking the codes, fine tuning features, adding new features, cheking for fixes. You are in an attended environment.

Subscription And Requirements

members1small.jpg
  • Subscription page.
  • Subscription requires only a valid email address. An activation link is sent to the provided email address. Each email address may open only one account. Please if you subscribe, in order to get your activation link be sure to check also your bulk or spam email folder: it is known that several filters may be exceedingly picky when it comes to automated emails.
  • Once clicked on the activation link, you will be redirected to Full Poster and you will be assigned (printed on page, in big fonts) a numerical id and a temporary password composed of random alphanumerical characters: write down that id and that password, enter the members area with it (and your assigned id, performing as username) and then you can change your password with something easier to remember (and you can choose an username that isn't a number too, if you like).
  • Profiles that do not populate with some coherent and minimal text their poster, or that do not use at least the blog, namely accounts that have been open to perform a mere reconnaissance in the members area and then are left inactive for the first weeks from the subscription day, may be deleted.
  • Accordingly to current FAQs, profiles that perform abuses can be subject to different levels of inhibitions, eventually deletion for the most serious cases.
  • Like any other articulated website, Full Poster too has a learning curve, and therefore may require about 1 hour, in the members area (if you are subscribed), to get acquainted with the options and the interfaces: there is no way to make too simple a product so rich in options and features.

Once learnt where the options you need are, you will spot them easily the next times.

Remember: you do not need to use all the options; like in a restaurant, you haven't to eat all the dishes just because they are listed in the menu!

  • All codes XHTML strict, studied on purpose to perform well on Search Engines.
  • Text clearly readable: no tiny fonts, no light colours on light background.
  • At no cost, is available a service to make the profile for yourself too if a promotional offer of this type is running.

The site has no funds for marketing, so you shouldn't judge the opportunity to join or the effectiveness of its services and features by a marketing induced popularity fueled by big money.

You may like it or you may not like it, but it's all for free.

Excerpt from the site:

All members are entitled to have their spaces as entirely and completely theirs.

Therefore no page of our members will confine your contents (as currently too many sites do) to a small column as if brushed aside by advertisements or banners or links to other contents not immediately relevant to your own and that you yourself did not put there. You ought to rule on your pages, and not to be treated like an inconvenience. If you have a blog, all the page is yours. If you have a profile, all that page is yours. Some users may find disconcerting seeing a full page entirely in the ownership of its owner: it is our contention that ours is the right paradigm, and that by confining the contents of Internet users to a small portion of a page our audiences have been miseducated and have been induced into believing against their own interests that if you own a page, then only a marginal part of it is really yours. (...)

We are committed to quality, and we hope that our endeavours shall inspire a qualified audience of professionals and artists to join us so to make your environment unlike many others thanks to the quality of our members. Our idea and intention is to make, over time, a quality environment.
