No one was hurt, although Mikey, who was home alone with Steve, did get slightly shocked. The bolt hit a light tower in our backyard and came in through a light switch in our bedroom, slightly charring the wallpaper.
We did lose a few electrical appliances, such as our garage door controls and a $90 TV, and it's likely that our server, with over five years of photos also went down. That's five years of photos which I luckily backed up, for the first and only time, less than a month ago!
As you can see, we have been blessed on many accounts. No one got hurt, the house didn't burn, damage was minimal and all the photos are safe, but it will take some time to get things back to normal. Thanks for your patience!
