Lindy Hop and Swing Dance in Baltimore and Worldwide
Dorry Segev and Sommer Gentry dance and teach 1940s Smooth Style Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, and Balboa. They love fast, upbeat music and fancy footwork. They have been dancing together all millenium and have competed and performed all over the world for audiences of thousands. They met dancing, and on October 18th, 2003, they were married in Ventura, CA. In 2004 they placed for the third time in the American Championships (watch the video!) and in 2002, while living abroad, they won the 2002 UK Championships.
In addition to teaching all over the world, they teach online for free (a new move every week)! They also sell 8 teaching videos which include Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate shag, and Tricks&Aerials.
Dorry & Sommer have started a new project at www.charmcityswing.com to introduce non-dancers to what we all do and love! The website tries to demystify swing dancing, and there is also a free online beginner lesson to get your non-dancer friends started. Come on out to the new Monday Night dance venue at Austin Grill in Canton (Baltimore waterfront), which was just named Baltimore's Best Reason to Go Out on a Monday Night by Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore 2005!
