Cascade implemented a client acceptance survey recently. Out of forty surveys only four declined to participate by not responding. Twenty three parents of children were randomly selected. Thirteen of seventeen adult subjects participated in the survey. Of the ones who did not participate, six had moved, three did not qualify because they had not come to therapy six months or more, and four did not participate (commenting they did not have time). Mean age of the child was 11.6 and seventy five percent were male. Mean age of adults was thirty seven and one hundred percent female. Only three expressed any negative comment. Two stated that part of the therapy provided was less effective but the rest was very helpful. The third said the therapy provided was not as relevant to her needs. The rest made comments like "the therapy provided was the best thing that ever happened in my life."
A teen said "I don't have to worry about my problems because I know when I go (to therapy), it is only temporary and they will help me through anything. I have also become a lot closer with my...parents in being able to work through and accept some of my trials with them by using how I am feeling and not putting blame on others."
Another teen said "I have improved from being a bad kid to a kid that likes to help others improve. In two weeks I improved more that four years at other therapy. I think I need to continue to go."
