The Agency maintains Professional Liability and General Liability Insurance at a level of $2,000,000.00. Maine law requires each private investigator to obtain a performance bond in the amount of $10,000.00 and file this bond with the Department of Public Safety before a license is issued. Also, each investigator must obtain a Private Investigator license in their individual name. Because all investigators are staff employees, the Agency pays for all bonding, license fees and insurance's. All fees, bonds and insurance's are current on all agents. The Atlas Agency, Inc. is fully licensed as a Private Detective Agency in both the State of New Hampshire and the State of Maine.
Atlas owner, Walter Metcalf is a retired Chief of Police and has been a staff and contract SIU field investigator with a major insurance carrier for over 10 years. As such, we have the ability to conduct Special Investigation Unit (SIU) functions in the state of Maine, including mandatory training of staff and reporting of suspected fraudulent claims to the Department of Insurance.
