- The Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor, one of Michigan's largest and most active service organizations, has been a significant part of the community since it was chartered on May 13, 1921. The club is generally best known for its rummage sale. Since 1927, the members of Kiwanis and a devoted group of valuable "sale volunteers" have collected and resold more than a million dollars in goods donated by local citizens.
- The "Kiwanis Sale" began as an annual February event that was held at various sites in the area.
