- Howdy! My name is Debbie Lee and I started 60 bugs in late 2005 after discovering a renewed interest in embroidery. "60 bugs" is also the name of a song that my son Jack wrote at about the same time. The images I started hand-stitching on things (tees, bibs, pillowcases, anything I could get my hands on, really!) were inspired by my love of music, pop culture and the 80s, and even though Jack was just 5 years old when he sang "60 bugs" for me, it had great energy and punk rock attitude and seemed to fit well with what I was doing. 60 bugs the crafty business was born! Sadly, the song of the same name is but a distant memory -- in typical 5 year old fashion, Jack refuses to sing it again. That's okay. It still rocks in my head.
